OFF//SCRIPT — Day Five

From:
Carlos plays guitar and Eva sings beside a fire pit while Julian and Finn share a blanket and N30N and Ash listen.

October 17–18, 2026 · From 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM · Commentary by [DEV]

1 · Crowded liminal

Mori photographs a produce stall while Taka points out a detail and Randi shoots independently along the busy market aisle.

[DEV] Taka and Mori went looking for something harder to find in a crowd. Randi went looking for her own shots. They briefly shared an aisle and handled it by pretending they didn’t. A perfectly reasonable arrangement between photographers.

2 · Essential groceries

Eva carries a small decorative cow skull beside the market van as Randi photographs her, with Dustin and RJ carrying groceries behind.

[DEV] Produce, honey, dried herbs, Dustin’s new hat. And a cow skull. Eva carried it to the van like it had been on the list all along, and even let Randi take the picture. Apparently we’re decorating the entryway now. 😂

3 · The room became a studio

N30N holds a guitar while Finn marks a beat beside a practice chair, Julian watches from the couch arm, and Ash paints by the window.

[DEV] N30N wanted a quiet house morning. By afternoon he and Finn were talking tempo and breath, Ash was painting by the window, and Julian had found something worth watching without a camera. Nobody booked the room. It just worked.

4 · Room for eleven

All eleven residents share roast chicken and market vegetables at the dining table, with Finn leaning toward Julian and Eva listening across from them.

[DEV] Five days in, all eleven finally sat down at once. Market vegetables, Dustin’s backup chicken, and Finn saying he could see them staying somewhere like this. Julian’s answer: “London has better curry.” Finn bumped his shoulder. Dinner carried on.

5 · The dishes committee

RJ washes a plate, Dustin dries another, and Taka stacks clean bowls in the warm kitchen after dinner.

[DEV] RJ washed, Dustin dried, Taka put things away. No meeting, no rota, no argument over whose turn it was. I’m documenting this in case we ever need evidence that three people can share a kitchen and get something done.

6 · Good enough to stay

Carlos plays guitar and Eva sings beside a fire pit while Julian and Finn share a blanket and N30N and Ash listen.

[DEV] Carlos played the song Eva half-remembered, and she found the harmony. Six people, blankets, mugs of tea, and three minutes where nobody needed to say anything else. Cold enough to huddle. Good enough to stay.
