OFF//SCRIPT — Day Four

From:
Randi studies her cards as RJ grins across a crowded dining table, with the house gathered for a rainy evening card game.

October 16–17, 2026 · From 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM · Commentary by [DEV]

1 · Something worth drawing

Finn stretches on the living-room floor while Ash sketches from the couch with a mug of tea beside her.

[DEV] Finn claimed the living-room floor before most of the house was awake. Ash came down for tea and ended up with her sketchbook open. No plans for the morning, but both of them found something worth doing.

2 · Rain delay, engine lesson

RJ explains a small engine to an attentive Dustin while Randi photographs her grease-marked hands in the mudroom.

[DEV] Rain sent RJ and Dustin into the mudroom, where an inventory turned into a small-engine lesson. He wanted to understand how it worked; she was happy to explain. Randi stopped by for one photo of the hands doing the explaining. Permission asked first.

3 · The window seat

Eva sits with a book and tea in the living-room window seat, talking comfortably with Finn after the rain.

[DEV] Eva took her tea and a book to the window seat. Finn joined her for a conversation about London and the luxury of meals nobody had to plan. The book could wait. These two already knew how to do an afternoon like this.

4 · House rules

Randi studies her cards as RJ grins across a crowded dining table, with the house gathered for a rainy evening card game.

[DEV] House rules: invented, disputed, enforced by nobody. RJ taught the game, Dustin questioned its fairness, and Randi lost three hands with considerable objections. Julian later won one hand and retired undefeated. I suspect there will be a rematch. 😂

5 · One more pass

Ash pauses with her acoustic guitar in the warmly lit kitchen while N30N listens closely beside an open notebook.

[DEV] After cards, Ash brought her guitar into the kitchen and N30N stayed to listen. A quiet song still taking shape, two mugs, and rain at the windows. A good way to let the evening run a little longer.

6 · The blue is up for discussion

Carlos turns from his unfinished blue oil painting as Mori pauses beside the easel with an observation.

[DEV] Carlos was still painting when Mori passed through. “The blue’s wrong for the light in here.” “It’s not done.” “I know. The blue’s still wrong.” Apparently the late shift comes with very specific feedback.
